Sean Kelly and The Super 8s - Irish Music at The Monkey House

Sean Kelly and The Super 8’s

Exceptional Irish Music combined with stunning visuals from films taken in Ireland, to be a fabulous immersive experience.

Sean Kelly plays Irish music from The Coromandel to Stewart Island to Ireland to Prague, then Great Barrier Island and back. Sean's a singer, plays bodhran, whistles and a bit of guitar, is a poet and can entertain whatever crowd he comes across.  Sean has twice sang Ireland's Call (The Irish rugby anthem) at Ireland V All Blacks games at Eden Park; been a finalist in the 'Tui' (NZ music award) in the best folk album category for his debut album: Sean Kelly & Friends - See the Light; M.C and music coordinator for the annual St. Patrick's Festival in Auckland and performed at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann (All Ireland Music Festival) in Drogheda, Ireland in August 2018.

The videos were captured by Sean's Dad, Seamus Kelly, a renowned Cine movie enthusiast. You'll see rural videos of Donegal landscapes and it's people, also urban images of Derry City, including a particularly poignant performance of Phil Coulter's The Town I Love So Well which chronicles Phil leaving Derry in the relative quiet of the 60's only to return in the '70s to 'The Troubles'.
